Engine Overview and Common Failures

The dry weight of the EB2M engine according to the catalog is 73.5 kg. The EB2M engine number is located at the front, at the junction with the gearbox. In the early years, there was a recall for the engines due to axial play in the crankshaft. Also, engines with mileage over 100,000 km often have oil consumption issues. But the biggest concern is the timing belt, which is located in the oil pan. It wears out quite quickly, and its wear debris clogs the oil channels. That's why the oil pump in this power unit doesn't last very long.
