Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the B5254S engine according to the catalog is 175 kg. The engine number B5254S is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. Until 1996, there was a finicky V-VIS system in the intake, but it was later abandoned. However, in general, this is a very reliable unit, which is only known for oil leaks. The rear crankshaft seal and the gasket of the oil pump are the most common places where it leaks. According to the schedule, the timing belt is changed every 75,000 km or if a valve failure occurs. The engine supports, water pump, fuel pump, and hydraulic lifters have a relatively low service life.
