Toyota 2L-TE engine
The 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel engine Toyota 2LTE was installed by the company from 1989 to 2001 and used in both passenger cars, such as the Crown, and off-road vehicles, such as the Hilux Surf. Unlike the similar 2LT engine, the 2LTE engine differed by the presence of an electronically controlled Common Rail fuel injection system by Denso. The series of L diesel engines include: 2L, 2L-T, 2L-THE, 3L, 5L, and 5L-E.
