Engine Overview and Common Failures

The engine weight of 2L according to the catalog is 230 kg. The engine number 2L is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. Due to the not very successful cooling system, these diesel engines often overheat. High temperatures lead to head gasket failure, seal cracks, and leaks appear. Fuel injectors and water pump also have a modest lifespan. In case of timing belt failure, not only the valves are bent, but also the camshaft breaks. There are no hydraulic compensators, and the valve clearances periodically require adjustment.
