The 2.0-liter diesel engine Toyota 2C was produced at the Japanese factory from 1983 to 2001 and was installed in many mid-size models of that era, such as Corona, Carina, and Corolla. This power unit was often referred to as 2C-L due to its transverse placement under the hood. The C series includes: 1C, 1C-T, 2C-E, 2C-T, 2C-TE, 3C-E, 3C-T, and 3C-TE.
