Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the 1C-T engine according to the catalog is 170 kg. The engine number for 1C-T is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. This is a very rare diesel power unit that was produced for only a couple of years. And all because it simply couldn't handle the heavy Camry and constantly overheated. The overheating quickly caused cracks in the cylinder head, often before reaching a mileage of 100,000 km. The turbocharger had a low lifespan, and its replacement was expensive. An overloaded timing belt does not last long, and if it breaks, it bends the valves.
