Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the G4JN engine is 148.2 kg (excluding attachments). The engine number G4JN is located on the cylinder block. It is important to carefully monitor the condition of the belts, as there are two of them: timing belt and balancing belt. If any of them breaks, it will require a complex and expensive overhaul. Hydraulic lifters often wear out quickly and start making loud clicking noises. Vibrations of the power unit are usually caused by severe wear of the engine mounts. Engine RPMs often fluctuate due to fuel injector, throttle or ECU contamination.
