Engine Overview and Common Failures

The dry weight of the G3LA engine is 71.4 kg (without attachments). The G3LA engine number is located at the front, at the junction with the gearbox. This unit is quite reliable, and the main complaints are related to noise and vibrations. The engine is very sensitive to overheating, so make sure to carefully monitor the cleanliness of the radiators. High temperatures cause gaskets to harden and lubrication to leak from all the gaps. For active drivers, the timing chain may stretch as early as 100-120 thousand km of mileage. Other weak points include the adsorber valve and short-lived engine supports.
