Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the K23A engine according to the catalog is 170 kg. The engine number K23A is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. This turbocharged engine is very reliable and practically free from inherent problems. However, if the oil replacement schedule is neglected, the turbine will quickly fail. The timing chain often stretches and starts making noise after a mileage of over 100,000 km. The engine mounts and front crankshaft seal have a low lifespan. There are no hydraulic compensators, and the valve clearances need to be adjusted every 90,000 km.
