Engines of this series are considered reliable and practically have no weak points. The very tight underhood layout makes it difficult to service the power unit. The i-DSI modification is equipped with eight spark plugs, and in service they often forget to change them all. Prolonged use of spark plugs leads to the failure of ignition coils. There are no hydraulic compensators, so valve clearances need to be adjusted every 50 thousand km.
