Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the F18B engine according to the catalog is 135 kg. The engine number F18B is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. Most car owners complain about leaks of lubricant and coolant. After 100-150 thousand km of mileage, the oil also starts to be consumed by burning. The timing belt lasts no more than 100 thousand km, and if it breaks, the valves usually bend. Due to the contamination of the crankcase ventilation system and the EGR valve, the engine starts to behave unstably. Valve clearances need to be adjusted every 40,000 km, there are no hydraulic compensators.
