Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the ED6 engine assembly is 140 kg. The ED6 engine number is located on the cylinder block. This engine has not been produced for a long time, so comprehensive failure statistics have not been collected. Owners often complain about high oil consumption on specialized forums. The use of a thicker lubricant usually helps reduce oil consumption at low mileage. Extended oil burning can clog the MultiAir channels, and its repair is expensive. Ignition coils often fail due to oil entering the spark plug wells.
