Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the EBD engine assembly is 140 kg. The EBD engine number is located on the cylinder block. First and foremost, this is a very rare engine that was only installed on the European Neon. The cooling system stands out with a low resource: its hoses crack, the thermostat fails. Consequently, overheating often occurs here, along with blown gaskets and warping of the cylinder head. On high mileage, oil consumption or leakage from seals is not uncommon. Keep an eye on the condition of the timing belt, as valve damage most often occurs when it snaps.
