Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the ESG engine assembly is 285 kg. The ESG engine number is located at the junction of the block and the oil pan. This engine is very reliable, but not everyone is satisfied with its high fuel consumption. The MDS system and hydraulic lifters require the use of 5W-20 oil. Due to low-quality fuel, the EGR valve quickly becomes dirty and starts to stick. The exhaust manifold can also crack and the bolts holding it in place can break. Often, strange sounds can be heard under the hood, commonly referred to as Hemi ticking.
