Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the EDZ engine assembly is 155 kg. The engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. The cylinder head gasket often fails, and the thermostat regularly leaks. Therefore, the procedure of replacing the gasket with surface grinding is common. Another common problem is valve burning, which is usually caused by oil deposits on the valve plate or worn guide bushing. The electrical system also gives a lot of trouble in this power unit: crankshaft and camshaft position sensors fail frequently, and the oil pressure sensor often leaks. Other drawbacks include constant complaints about malfunctions in the fuel vapor capture system, as well as the limited lifespan of engine supports, high-voltage wires, and the balance block circuit.
