Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the EGA engine assembly is 180 kg. The EGA engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. The power units of this series are reliable but have high fuel consumption. On engines manufactured before 2000, the valve rocker arm supports regularly broke. In 2002, a plastic intake manifold began to be installed and it often cracks. The aluminum cylinder heads often warp due to overheating and coolant leaks are not uncommon. After 200,000 km mileage, oil consumption may appear and the timing chain may stretch.
