Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the EGH engine assembly is 180 kg. The EGH engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. Engines of this series are very reliable, but they have high fuel consumption. Before the year 2000, there was a problem with the breakage of valve rocker arm supports. After 2002, a plastic intake manifold appeared, which often cracked. Aluminum cylinder heads are very sensitive to overheating, so coolant leaks are not uncommon here. Closer to 200,000 km mileage, the timing chain may stretch and oil consumption may increase.
