Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the ERB engine assembly is 167 kg. The ERB engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. Before 2012, the engine suffered from rapid wear of the rocker arms and camshaft lobes. There were also problems with contamination of the oil channels by wear products. The phase adjusters, oil pump, water pump, and thermostat have a low service life. Leaks from the oil cooler and gasket around the generator area are common occurrences. In 2012 and 2013, defective cylinder heads were regularly encountered.
