Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the F18D3 engine according to the catalog is 130 kg. The engine number F18D3 is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. The weak point of this engine is its electrical system, especially the control unit ECU, which often malfunctions. The second most common failures are related to the ignition module, which is also quite expensive. The most common cause of malfunctions is the violation of the temperature operating mode. It is better to replace the timing belt more frequently than the recommended 90,000 km, as a valve breakage can cause damage. To eliminate engine idle speed fluctuations, it is possible to clean the throttle valve.
