Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the X18XE engine according to the catalog is 140 kg. The engine number X18XE is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. This engine is considered reliable, and all its problems are easily and inexpensively solved. To avoid fluctuations in revolutions, it is necessary to clean the MAF and the crankcase ventilation system. The exhaust manifold often cracks, and welding is pointless; a new one will have to be purchased. The weak point in the electrical part is the camshaft position sensor. The timing belt lasts no more than 60,000 kilometers, and if it breaks, the valves always bend.
