Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the Z12XEP engine according to the catalog is 100 kg. The engine number Z12XEP is located at the junction of the block with the gearbox. The most common service inquiries are related to electrical failures or the ECU unit. Problems with the Twinport system throttles and the EGR valve come in second place. The lifespan of the chain rarely exceeds 100,000 km, after which it stretches and starts making noise. Owners also occasionally have to replace the thermostat and oil pump. When searching for the source of an oil leak, start with the oil pressure sensor, as it is a weak spot there.
