Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the Z16XE engine according to the catalog is 120 kg. The engine number Z16XE is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. Owners often complain about oil consumption and carbon deposits, which are not always helped by decarbonization. The main cause of oil consumption is usually worn-out oil scraper rings that have come off the guides. The culprit for loss of power and fluctuating engine speeds is a clogged EGR valve. According to the schedule, the timing belt should be replaced every 60,000 km or in case of valve failure. Regular problems with the electrical system occur due to weak wiring or ECU glitches.
