Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the X12XE engine assembly is 92 kg. The engine number X12XE is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. It is a reliable unit, but it does not tolerate cheap oil and long replacement intervals. Therefore, on forums, there are complaints about coke formation in the lubricant and sticking of hydraulic lifters. The oil pump is small and its performance often decreases by the mileage of 200,000 km. The timing chain does not have a high resource and often requires replacement even before 100,000 km. The weak points of this power unit also include the thermostat and ignition module.
