Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the DV5RE engine in the catalog is 125 kg. The engine number DV5RE is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. The problem with the camshaft chain breakage affected weak diesel engines to a lesser extent, but we still recommend changing the chain every 150,000 km, as its breakage is fatal. Sometimes there are strong drops in power, most often due to the failure of the DMRV. All other problems here are somehow related to the exhaust gas cleaning system. The Adblue injection system fails, the soot filter gets clogged, and the EGR valve malfunctions.
