Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the K10A engine assembly is 80 kg. The engine number K10A is located at the junction with the gearbox. This unit does not tolerate bad fuel, as the injectors get clogged very quickly. It is also not recommended to save on lubrication, as the piston rings will stick and oil consumption will increase. In turbocharged engine modifications, the turbine usually lasts from 100,000 to 150,000 km. There are no hydraulic compensators, and valve clearances need to be adjusted every 30,000 km. Service technicians consider the thin timing chain and ignition coils to be the weak points of the engine.
