Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the K10B engine assembly is 70 kg. The engine number K10B is located at the junction with the gearbox. It is a simple and reliable engine that, with proper care, can last up to 250,000 km. Keep an eye on the cooling system, as the aluminum engine does not tolerate overheating. Although rare, cases of timing chain stretching have been recorded at around 150,000 km. Sensors can also occasionally malfunction, causing oil leaks from the seals. After 200,000 km, the piston rings usually settle and a slight oil consumption may occur.
