Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the G10A engine assembly is 72 kg. The engine number G10A is located at the junction with the gearbox. If this power unit is not overheated, it serves for a long time and without any special problems. Overheating leads to cracks in the cylinder head or cooling jacket of the aluminum block. On high mileage, oil consumption is often encountered due to wear of the cast iron liners. Owners often face problems with the quirks of the outdated ignition system. In most versions, there are no hydraulic compensators and the valve clearance needs to be adjusted.
