Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the J23A engine assembly is 125 kg. The engine number J23A is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. The main problem here is oil consumption due to hardened oil control seals. Another cause of excessive oil consumption may be wear and sticking of the oil control rings. The timing chain and especially their hydraulic tensioners have a relatively low service life. The owner is also faced with regular failures in the ignition system, which cause many problems. The short lifespan of its supports is another weak point of this power unit.
