Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the F6A engine assembly is 76 kg. The F6A engine number is located at the junction of the block and the oil pan. The main drawback of such units is the problems with service and spare parts. Oil leaks and ignition system failures are the most frequently discussed topics on forums. In turbocharged engine modifications, the turbine resource sometimes does not exceed 100,000 km. The timing belt often breaks before the recommended 90,000 km, and the valves tend to bend here. There are no hydraulic compensators, and valve clearance adjustment is required every 50,000 km.
