Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the K12B engine assembly is 80 kg. The engine number K12B is located at the front, at the junction with the gearbox. It is a simple and reliable motor without any serious weak points. The main breakdowns are related to throttle contamination and ignition coil failures. Saving on oil often leads to valve phaser clogging. Owners also complain about the engine taking quite a long time to warm up in winter. There are no hydraulic compensators, and valve clearances need to be adjusted every 100,000 km.
