Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the engine 198A1000 according to the catalog is 125 kg. The engine number 198A1000 is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. For a small turbocharged engine, this engine is quite reliable, but it can be troublesome in small details. In case of difficult starting, the fuel pressure regulator or a clogged filter is usually to blame. When there is a loss of lubrication, check the oil separator and especially its membrane. On high mileage, the hot part of the turbine and the exhaust manifold often crack. Also, the rubber diaphragm of the turbocharger bypass valve tends to break here.
