Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the F10CV engine according to the catalog is 85 kg. The engine number F10CV is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. This engine does not cause trouble, but its lifespan is often limited to 220,000 km mileage. Significant compression loss in the cylinders is a sign of an upcoming overhaul. The timing belt has a modest lifespan of 40,000 km and always causes valve damage when it breaks. The unit does not tolerate poor fuel, causing spark plugs and injectors to quickly fail. As there are no hydraulic compensators, the valves will need to be adjusted every 50,000 km.
