Engine Overview and Common Failures

The engine number B205E is located in front of the engine, next to the transmission. Turbo engines of this series suffer from constant oil leaks, especially at the joints. Hydro compensators are not durable and can start knocking at around 150,000 km. By this mileage, the oil pump is already considerably worn out, which is dangerous for the bearings. The oil rings start to wear out at approximately 200,000 km and oil consumption increases. Lightweight pistons cannot tolerate heavy boosting and can simply burn out. Another standard procedure is getting rid of noisy balancers. The weak points of the engine also include the turbine, ignition cassette, and electric throttle.
