Engine Overview and Common Failures

The B207R engine number is located on the oil filter housing. This is a fairly reliable engine, except for the limited lifespan of the timing chain and balance shafts. The turbocharger performs well, but the bypass valve often fails. There are also some issues with the short lifespan of the VKG system valve. Weak points include the control unit, fuel pump, electronic throttle, and PCV valve.
