Engine Overview and Common Failures

- Together with the oil replacement in the radiator, 5.4 liters are required. - The engine number B234E is located at the front of the engine, next to the gearbox. - This is a reliable engine, and all the described malfunctions occur at high mileage. - The main problems here are caused by the balance shaft assembly, and many people simply remove it. - After jump-starting or infrequent spark plug replacement, the ignition cassette often fails. - At around 250,000 km mileage, the oil pump usually wears out and the timing chain stretches. - Very rarely, but there have been cases of loosening connecting rod caps, which is fatal for the engine.
