Engine Overview and Common Failures

This diesel engine appeared not so long ago and there is no statistics of typical malfunctions yet. Owners on forums mostly discuss strange noises and vibrations during operation. Complaints about oil and coolant leaks are also occasionally encountered. The timing belt lasts for a long time, but requires attention as its failure can bend the valves. The particulate filter causes a lot of trouble on high mileage, and the EGR valve as well.
