Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the N54 engine according to the catalog is 187 kg. The N54 engine number is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. The main problems with the engine are related to the direct fuel injection system. Injectors and high-pressure fuel pump may require replacement much earlier than 100,000 km mileage. In engines manufactured before 2010, the low-pressure valve often failed. The pair of Mitsubishi TD03-10TK3 turbochargers also does not have the longest lifespan. The trendy electric pump has a tendency to fail at the most inconvenient moment.
