Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the M62 engine according to the catalog is 208 kg. The engine number M62 is located in the cylinder block assembly. These engines also have a nicasil coating, which is sensitive to sulfur in the fuel. The single-row timing chain has a modest lifespan of 150,000 km, while VANOS lasts the same. The fluctuation in engine speed is often caused by air leakage in the intake manifold. The generator with water cooling is known for its low reliability and suitability for repair. Additionally, this unit suffers from coolant and oil leaks from under the valve cover.
