Engine Overview and Common Failures

The engine number B48 is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. Oil consumption Compared to its predecessors, B48 series engines are not as prone to excessive oil consumption, but around 100,000 km, the oil control rings often become clogged and oil consumption appears. Fluctuating idle speed or regular appearance of lean mixture errors suggest a malfunctioning fuel tank ventilation valve. But it is inexpensive. In 2019, a recall campaign was conducted to replace defective B48 series engines. The issue was with faulty needle bearings, which serve as support for balancing. Other weak points of the engine These units are sensitive to the quality of fuel used and the frequency of oil changes, and saving money often results in extremely expensive repairs or engine replacement.
