Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the P9X engine according to the catalog is 235 kg. The engine number P9X is located at the junction of the block with the oil pan. Diesel power units produced from 2001 to 2005 suffered from frequent overheating, leading to cracks in the block, cylinder liner failure, coolant leakage into the exhaust manifold, deformation of the cylinder heads, and even rupture of the expansion tank and cooling radiators. In this engine, camshaft sensors often fail, especially after belt replacement, and the EGR valve also malfunctions. A sudden drop in engine power indicates a failure of the DMRV. Other issues include quick carbon buildup in the EGR valve, frequent jamming of the turbine geometry adjustment mechanism, and exhaust manifold burning.
