Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the J7T engine in assembly is 155 kg. The engine number J7T is located on the cylinder block. Like all old French engines, it causes quite a lot of trouble with the electrical system. However, the main problem of the unit is regular leaks from gaskets and seals. Often, oil enters the ignition distributor and the engine starts overheating. Lubrication also often spills directly onto the timing belt, and if it breaks, it bends the valves. Low oil level reduces the lifespan of the inserts, and the engine can simply seize up.
