Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the 4Y-E engine according to the catalog is 155 kg. The engine number 4Y-E is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. This power unit is highly prone to overheating, most often with gasket failure. It can also cause damage to the bridge between the 4th cylinder and the coolant channel. After replacing the gasket, it is necessary to carry out a cylinder head tightening after 1500 km. Many owners face oil consumption and often from the first kilometers of mileage. The remaining problems are reduced to lubrication leaks or ignition system quirks.
