Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the 3Y-E engine according to the catalog is 150 kg. The engine number 3Y-E is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. The majority of problems with this engine are related to its tendency to overheat. High temperatures primarily cause warping of the cylinder head gasket and leakage. In extreme cases, this can result in the destruction of the wall of the fourth cylinder. For the same reason, the oil control valve seals harden and oil consumption occurs. The ignition system and fuel pump are also considered weak points of the engine.
