Engine Overview and Common Failures

The RB26DETT engine weighs 255 kg according to the catalog. The engine number is located on the cylinder block. This power unit is very reliable and has a huge strength reserve. In the early years of production, a low-performance oil pump was used. Only individual ignition coils have a small resource in the engine. The timing belt needs to be replaced every 80-100 thousand km, and if the valve breaks, it causes damage. The engine does not like poor quality fuel, and the injectors and filters get clogged very quickly.
