Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the RB20DET engine according to the catalog is 245 kg. The engine number RB20DET is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. Engines of this series are known for their reliability and minimal operational problems. The main drawback is considered to be high fuel consumption for such a working volume. According to statistics, the highest number of failures occurs in the ignition system. It is necessary to monitor the condition of the timing belt, as valve damage can occur if it breaks. The engine does not tolerate low-quality gasoline, and the injectors here quickly get clogged.
