Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the DK5ATE engine according to the catalog is 260 kg. The engine number DK5ATE is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. This diesel engine is considered quite temperamental and, moreover, very difficult to repair. Its main problem is the cracking of the cylinder head due to any overheating. Non-original oil quickly affects the performance of the turbine and hydraulic lifters. With mileage over 300,000 km, the prechambers can crack and come loose into the cylinders. Most spare parts for this engine are unreasonably expensive and not widely available.
