Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the G8BE engine according to the catalog is 236 kg. The G8BE engine number is located at the back, at the junction with the gearbox. It is a quite reliable engine and owners often only complain about fuel consumption. The main problems are related to rapid formation of carbon deposits on the intake valves. The main cause of power loss is the failure of the fuel pump in the tank. After 200,000 km, the timing chains often stretch and usually require replacement along with the phase regulators. It's worth noting the high price and limited choice of spare parts for this engine.
