Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the EJ201 engine assembly is 135 kg. The EJ201 engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. The most well-known problem with engines of this family is excessive oil consumption. It not only burns, but also leaks from all gaskets and seals of the engine. Monitor the lubrication level, as lack of oil can quickly damage the bearings. The cooling system is not particularly reliable, and these engines are prone to overheating. Often, around 200,000 km, the fourth cylinder starts knocking due to insufficient cooling.
