Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the EJ20G engine according to the catalog is 150 kg. The engine number EJ20G is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. The key to prolonged operation of a turbocharged engine is oil pressure control. A decrease in lubrication level quickly leads to bearing rotation and unit seizure. Oil is not only consumed due to burning, but also leaks from gaskets and seals. An inefficient cooling system often leads to engine overheating. The appearance of knocks under the hood indicates that the engine has seized after overheating.
