Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the Y32SE engine assembly is 202 kg. The engine number Y32SE is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. The unreliable VKG system causes quite a lot of problems for engines in this series. Another weak point of these engines is the constantly leaking heat exchanger. Around 250,000 km, the oil pump's performance drops, which can lead to engine failure. Keep an eye on the cooling system, as overheating can quickly blow the cylinder head gasket. Ignition coils, lambda sensors, and crankshaft position sensor are also frequently replaced.
